{"id":29,"date":"2007-06-07T06:15:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-07T06:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dhbolton.com\/blog\/?p=29"},"modified":"2007-06-07T06:15:00","modified_gmt":"2007-06-07T06:15:00","slug":"programming-contests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dhbolton.com\/blog\/uncategorized\/programming-contests\/","title":{"rendered":"Programming contests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I write for About.com on C, C++ and C# programming and have been running a <a href=\"http:\/\/cplus.about.com\/b\/a\/000126.htm\" title=\"Link to Programming Challenge on Cplus.about.com\">Programming Challenge<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>You find lots of these challenges and contests on the web so I collected a list of ten that seem to be live and put them in a article <a href=\"http:\/\/cplus.about.com\/od\/glossary\/a\/ten-contests.htm\" title=\"Link to ten Programming Contests\">Ten Programming Contests.<\/a> One thing I&#8217;ve noticed is just how many Chinese and Eastern European developers are entering these. Maybe it&#8217;s a cultural thing or maybe this is where the future lies. If I do a Google Trends search for C++\/C#, these are then top ten countries in order using google. <\/p>\n<p>India, Pakistan, South Africa, Israel, Singapore, Viet Nam, Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>Of course maybe the richer countries like the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany can afford the manuals and have less need to search&#8230; but interesting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I write for About.com on C, C++ and C# programming and have been running a Programming Challenge.
